IG Summer Concert Series: Lykke Li
0On August 3rd my brother and I drove to the Greek Theatre in Los Angeles’ beautiful Griffith Park to see Lykke Li perform. If you ever have a chance to visit this venue, I highly recommend it. So pretty!
When we got there an opening band, Fool’s Gold, was performing. I had a celebrity spotting:
Afterwards another opener, Best Coast performed. They were actually pretty decent.
Then Lykke Li took the stage. She was amazing!!

I also took video of her performing “Sadness is a Blessing,” which is my favorite song off of her new album:

IG Summer Concert Series 2011: Selena Gomez & The Scene
0As I mentioned a couple of months ago in this post, I planned on going to a couple of shows this summer to see some of my favorite acts. A couple of weeks ago was the first concert: Selena Gomez & the Scene!
The concert was on July 24th at the Orange County Fairgrounds. Here is the amphitheater:
Thank god for zoom/monitors!
I didn’t have anything to write the set list down with, but I will try to remember the songs she played (not really in any order):
Love You Like a Love Song
Hit the Lights
The Way I Loved You
Round & Round
A Year Without Rain
Rock God
Off the Chain
Summer’s Not Hot
We Own the Night
Bang Bang Bang
My Dilemma
Tell Me Something I Don’t Know
Naturally
Who Says (Encore)
I think I’m missing a couple. She also did the Super Bass cover seen here:
And OMG GUESS WHO SHOWED UP (as predicted by the lady at the Budweiser stand I talked to on my way back from the bathroom earlier):
He sang a cover, “Cry Me a River” by Justin Timberlake. The six year old I was with was sooo excited, she loves JB.
I heard later that her show wasn’t really her normal set since it is at a fairground, too bad. I thought she sounded great though, and the place was PACKED. Everyone had a really good time, and I’d love to see her again (maybe at a different venue next time!)
Stash #3 Detail: The Rest
0Here are the rest of the fabrics I got from my mom a couple of weeks ago. The fabrics on the left are all solids, the other two piles are patterns. There are matching stars and moons fabrics in blue and white and some other pretty fabrics. I plan on using the solids for something like this. I may use some of the blues and whites for the American flag quilt. I have some other ideas for the others, too. Stay tuned!
