New Fabric! (Stash #5)
1Something came in the mail yesterday…
My fabric! I won a giveaway over at Stitched in Color for this GORGEOUS set of Michael Miller fabrics from Marmalade Fabrics!
I received 1/2 a yard of each fabric. I can hardly wait to use them on something!! In fact, I’m going to save these to use on a quilt for MYSELF! Can you believe of the 10+ quilts I’ve made, I haven’t made any for myself yet?? (I can’t believe it’s been so many, I only started this hobby less than two years ago!)
OC Children’s Book Festival!
0On Sunday, October 2 I attended the OC Children’s Book Festival at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. I headed straight to the Young Adult stage and got some books signed!
First off, I got my copy of Spoiled signed by the authors, Jessica Morgan and Heather Cocks. They also write the hilarious site, Go Fug Yourself.
I listened to some other authors talk and then the awesome Kami Garcia took the stage, one of the authors of the Caster Chronicles: Beautiful Creatures, Beautiful Darkness and the upcoming Beautiful Chaos. Unfortunately the other author, Margaret Stohl wasn’t there.
Hopefully I’ll get to meet her someday. I can’t wait to read the new book!!
Overall it was a great and exciting day! I have plans to see Kate Beaton of Hark A Vagrant when she comes to Los Angeles on Oct 23rd. Tell me, do you like to meet authors of books you love? If you haven’t, who would you like to meet?
Snips N Snails Quilt: Done!
6This is my latest completed quilt, Snips N Snails, for my cousin’s new baby! It is 45.5″x38″.
I quilted in various ways and with different colored threads, depending on the color of the fabrics. It took a bit longer but I’m happy with the end result!
I’m absolutely in LOVE with the binding, too. Striped bindings are so much fun. Click on the pictures below to see more.

I hope Mama and baby love it. I’ve already started my next quilt!
I’m sharing this over at QuiltStory for Fabric Tuesday and JAQS Studio!
